The black cat tells us to be alert. Some days we aren't grounded or in the moment until we get the poke, pinch or whack. Wake up! Be present and alert. Get enough sleep.
Balance is a major effort for many of us. With our hectic modern life, it's easy to become unbalanced. When we wake up and become aware of what we are doing, we work on it. Examine what's happening in your life and put a plan into effect to bring balance.
The whip speaks of discipline. That's what it takes for us to be both alert, present and balanced. Discipline often means that we practice, practice, practice until it becomes habit.
