The red snake is a rattler. It warns those who are entering into its zone to be careful. I also think of the snake as the kundalini in each of us. What powerful energies there are. Use them wisely.
The woolly mammoth moves forward, carrying the seeds from the past. This speaks of karma. There is work for us to do and growth comes from it.
